Bobbing Up the Bobbies in Cleethorpes for Operation Coastline

Summer’s afoot, and with it comes a surge of seaside sojourners, picnickers, and tourists flocking to our coastal towns like Cleethorpes. But with the bustling season, there’s a shadow of crime and antisocial behaviour looming. To nip this in the bud, Humberside Police has kicked off Operation Coastline today. The aim? To safeguard our coastal and market towns from criminal elements that might fancy a bit of mischief during the warmer months. Local neighbourhood policing teams, the Rural Task Force, and the Community Safety Unit will be out and about, highly visible and interacting with the community. The Roads Policing unit will also be on their toes, patrolling key routes in both marked and unmarked vehicles to deter any potential troublemakers. Superintendent Gary Foster assured residents and visitors of an increased officer presence. In tandem with partner agencies, they will focus on youth engagement to curb antisocial behaviour and ensure a safe, welcoming environment for all. Police and Crime Commissioner Jonathan Evison echoed this sentiment, expressing his support for the operation after its successful pilot last year. Remember, if you see something, say something – report any suspicious activity to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or at www.crimestoppers.org.uk. And, for the latest on Operation Coastline, don’t forget to follow #OpCoastline on Facebook and Twitter.
