Grantham’s Teenage Knockout: 15-year-old Boxing Prodigy Set for National Glory

Learna Buff, Grantham’s own 15-year-old boxing sensation, has secured her second national title and is now lacing up for a shot at representing England. The rising star triumphed in the junior under 60kg category at the England Boxing National Junior Championships on March 23. Thrilled about her victory, Learna is eagerly awaiting the opportunity to represent her country at the Four Nations Championship this May. “All my dedication and hard work is paying off,” she beamed. Learna first stepped into the ring at age 12 and fell head over gloves with the sport. She’s now a regular at the New Saints ABC boxing gym in St Neots, training tirelessly every weeknight. But it’s not just about the physical combat for Learna – she acknowledges the benefits boxing has reaped for her mental health, providing her a much-needed break from her GCSE revision. As for her future, the ambitious teenager is eyeing a professional career, with dreams of Olympic gold and big title victories. Learna’s proud father, Leigh Buff, is over the moon with his daughter’s achievements, stating, “Our little Learna from little Grantham, a two-time national boxing champion going to represent England, just wow. I have seen my beautiful 15-year-old go from depths of depression through injuries to total elation. I have nothing but respect for her.”
