Green Light for 66-Bed Care Home in Bourne, Promising Local Job Creation

Last week, South Kesteven District Council granted LNT Care Developments the planning approval to replace a house on Tarragon Way, Bourne, with a 66-bed residential care home for the elderly. Jo Kemp, LNT Care’s senior planning manager, envisions the two-storey facility as a major local employment hub, anticipating it will create between 50 and 60 jobs. Kemp sees the project as more than just a care home. She envisions it as a multi-million pound investment that will form lasting relationships with local schools, community groups, contractors, and suppliers. The H-shaped facility will also include parking for 30 cars. Despite some local concerns regarding access and parking, ward councillor Helen Crawford stated that the majority of residents were in favour of the care home’s location. The planning committee has given its support to the project, but has stipulated that the applicant must submit a travel and a construction plan. No timescales for the development have been released yet.
