Lorry Driver’s Heroic Dog Rescue Sparks Viral Sensation

Pete Miller, a lorry driver, found himself in an unexpected situation on his usual route along the A18 near Grimsby, Lincolnshire. Miller spotted a terrified cocker spaniel on the side of the road, which he has affectionately named Sally. Describing her as a ‘quivering wreck’, he quickly alerted authorities to her plight. ‘The wee dog was drenched and lying on the ground, absolutely petrified, as the traffic whizzed past,’ shared Mr Miller. The heartwarming tale of Sally’s rescue soon became an internet sensation, stirring a wave of responses from people wanting to adopt her. Sally is currently under the care of the local rescue centre, Paw & Co, run by Erica Fox, who responded to Miller’s call. Ms Fox believes that Sally might have been used for breeding at a puppy farm due to her condition when found. The story of Sally’s rescue has attracted substantial attention online, generating 1.5 million views on TikTok and prompting over 1,000 adoption applications. However, Sally is not yet ready for adoption.
