Two men from Grimsby have been incarcerated for their roles in a local narcotics operation. One of the duo was involved in an altercation at a nightclub and an attempted car theft before his arrest. Jake Clarke, 19, of Evesham Avenue, Grimsby, admitted to affray, the possession of a knife, and an attempted car robbery in Abbey Road, Grimsby. Furthermore, he confessed to being involved in the supply of Class A drugs. Joshua Deakins, 21, of Spring Bank, Grimsby, also pleaded guilty to his involvement in the distribution of Class A narcotics. Clarke was seen brandishing a knife at The Fusion nightclub, which led to the police being called. Later, Clarke attempted to steal a car, threatening the car owner that he was capable of causing harm. Officers, after conducting thorough investigations, discovered an address in Spring Bank, Grimsby, connected to a drug line known as ‘AJ’. After seizing heroin, mobile phones, and uncovering drug-related messages and evidence of Clarke’s connection, both men were arrested. Following their court appearances, Clarke was sentenced to four years and five months in a young offenders institution, while Deakins received a three-year jail term. The Humberside Police and the Kinetic Organised Crime Team have both reiterated their commitment to combating drug-related activities and organised crime in the area.
