As the Greater Lincolnshire mayoral election draws near, candidates are primed to partake in an online hustings debate. The event, scheduled for 2pm on Wednesday, April 23, is part of the run-up to the region’s first-ever mayoral election on Thursday, May 1. The digital hustings is a collaborative effort by Lincolnshire Live, Grimsby Live, Scunthorpe Live, and Iliffe Media, offering voters a unique opportunity to hear directly from the candidates. The six mayoral hopefuls – Sally Horscroft of the Green Party, Andrea Jenkyns from Reform UK, Marianne Overton of Lincolnshire Independents, Labour’s Jason Stockwood, Conservative Rob Waltham, and Liberal Democrat Trevor Young – will debate key issues and respond to queries from Local Democracy Reporters Jamie Waller and James Turner. The proceedings will be hosted by Natalie Fahy, senior editor of Lincolnshire Live, and will be live-streamed on Lincolnshire Live’s Facebook page, as well as on the Facebook pages of Grimsby Live and Scunthorpe Live. To join the digital hustings, tune in just before 2pm on Wednesday, April 23.
