Spalding Shops Shut Down Over Illicit Ciggy and Vape Sales

Two Spalding businesses have been forced to close their doors for a quarter of a year following a discovery of unlawful cigarette and vape trade. Both Nida and Max Mini Mart, located on Winsover Road, were implicated in the sale of counterfeit tobacco and vape products. The operation, which took place on April 7, was a collaborative effort between Lincolnshire Police and Lincolnshire County Council’s Trading Standards team. Closure orders for both establishments were successfully secured. Sgt Callum Corder stated that while public sentiment leaned towards an indefinite shutdown of these outlets, legislation set a maximum limit for such closures. All relevant agencies are now working closely with the property landlords to prevent future tenants from continuing such illegal activities. However, they also rely on public information to identify any new offending shops. The sergeant further elaborated that these closures are a part of a larger initiative to curb anti-social behaviour in South Holland. He expressed that such closure orders, which last for three months, are necessary to prevent further criminal activities on these premises and urged the public to report any suspicious activities.
