Covert Lorry Operation Nets 145 A1 Offenders

Lincolnshire Police recently revealed the outcomes of their most recent traffic enforcement campaign, Operation Tramline, conducted on the A1 over a span of five days the previous week. By utilising a lorry supplied by National Highways, that was not explicitly marked as a police vehicle, officers were able to inconspicuously observe driver conduct and recorded 145 traffic offences. The most serious infringement was committed by a 38-year-old male who was arrested under suspicion of driving under influence, after testing positive for both cannabis and cocaine. The operation serves to highlight the ongoing efforts of the police to bolster road safety using novel approaches.
