Elderly Man Faces Court Over Poisoning of Birds of Prey

Brian Chorlton, an 87-year-old resident of Lincoln, faces serious allegations related to the poisoning of birds of prey in South Kesteven and is scheduled to appear before Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on 8 May. Mr. Chorlton has been charged on 11 different counts concerning the improper storage of the chemical Aldicarb. He is also facing accusations over the possession of equipment used for poisoning and four pole traps.

The case emerged after Lincolnshire Police commenced an investigation following troubling reports from the Castle Bytham area. This case serves as a critical example of the ongoing illegal persecution of wildlife prevalent in rural parts of Lincolnshire.
