A tragic road incident on the A16, near Algarkirk and Sutterton Dowdyke on Easter Sunday, claimed the life of a man in his 50s from Holbeach. The collision involved a lorry and a white Citroen Berlingo. According to Lincolnshire Police, the event occurred just prior to 1 pm, in the vicinity of Church Lane.
Emergency services responded rapidly to the incident. The road remained shut for a prolonged period to accommodate thorough investigations, which only ceased shortly before midnight. The road has since been reopened.
Despite this, the investigation is ongoing. Authorities are appealing to any eyewitnesses who haven’t yet reported their accounts to reach out and make contact with the Serious Collision Investigation Unit. They urge anyone with information to dial 101 or write an email to SCIUinvestigators@lincs.police.uk, referencing the incident number 190 of 20 April.
