Businesses Halt Trade as Travellers Encampment Sparks Concerns

Almost a dozen unauthorised camper vans and motorhomes in Boston’s Cattle Market car park led the local council to quickly intervene. The vehicles, first seen on Monday, April 21, compelled Boston Borough Council to issue formal notices. By Tuesday, April 22, all but one vehicle had departed the location. A representative from the council emphasised the swiftness of their response, noting that notices were served within 2.5 hours of the encampment’s establishment. Legal action is being prepared if the remaining vehicle does not vacate soon. This event follows rising unease from local businesses and residents, especially as they were compelled to shut on a usually busy Bank Holiday Monday. Richard Tice, local MP, expressed his anxiety on social media platforms, urging that the authorities safeguard locals obeying the law and account for any damages caused.
