The origin of the substantial blaze at Saxilby Enterprise Park continues to perplex investigators as they are yet to identify its source. The fire broke out on Monday, 21st April, and a quick response was actioned by Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue. Response teams hurried to the industrial property, situated off Skellingthorpe Road, which accommodates a variety of businesses. Eight fire engines were employed to handle the fire at Lindum Skip Hire and Waste Recycling, a site recognised for its skip hire services across Lincolnshire.
An extensive investigation took place on Tuesday, 22nd April, but the level of destruction obstructed efforts to determine a clear cause. A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service acknowledged the difficulty, expressing, “Our fire investigators have been unable to specify a cause due to the damage incurred.”
Residents in the vicinity were recommended to keep windows and doors shut as a protective measure during the occurrence. Thankfully, no injuries have been reported.
