Council Launches CCTV Appeal After Grimsby Fly-Tipping Incident

The North East Lincolnshire Council has launched an appeal for information from the public after CCTV footage captured a person, twice within two days, seemingly discarding rubbish on Corporation Road, Grimsby. The video, recorded on Wednesday, 9th April, shows two bags of rubbish left next to a wall, with an identical incident taking place the next day.

Speaking on the matter, Councillor Ron Shepherd, who holds the portfolio for Safer and Stronger Communities, underscored the Council’s firm stance on fly-tipping. He stressed that any individuals found guilty of the offense could be subject to penalties and possible legal action.

The local authority is encouraging residents to report any instances of fly-tipping, suggesting that this will aid in preserving a clean local environment. The Council also points out that fly-tipping poses not only environmental and financial risk, but also adds up to an annual expense of tens of thousands of pounds to combat.

Anyone who recognises the person captured in the CCTV footage is strongly urged to make contact with the Council, either by phone call or through email.
