New Street in Grimsby is set to endure periodic disruptions over the upcoming three weeks due to the ongoing relocation of Grimsby Central Library’s expansive book collection. This has been necessitated by a significant water leak, resulting in the library, a structure dating back to the 1960s, remaining out of use since 28 March.
To tackle complications posed by asbestos in the building, an extended closure period has been adopted by the North East Lincolnshire Council. Parallelly, measures are being taken to identify a temporary alternative town centre locale for the library to ensure it can continue to provide its indispensable service to the local community.
