A fire broke out at the Bubblecar Museum’s workshop in Langrick, leading to an immediate response from Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue. The firefighting units from Spilsby, Woodhall Spa, Horncastle, Kirton, and Sleaford were called into action, employing advanced firefighting tools such as Cobra and thermal imaging cameras to quell the flames. Despite the dramatic visuals, Paula Ashleigh-Morris, the owner of the museum, has reassured the public that the museum and its significant collections remain untouched by the fire.
The incident happened on Wednesday, 23rd April; however, the museum is set to resume its usual working hours on Friday, 25th April. Paula stated wholeheartedly that the fire was restricted to an outbuilding workshop, ensuring that the main structures of the museum and the exhibits were left unscathed. She also acknowledged the commendable job done by the fire teams in containing the fire and was quick to quash any misinformation on social media.
While the museum stood undamaged, a few personal articles stored in the workshop were unfortunately tarnished by the fire. Currently, investigations are in progress to pinpoint the root cause of the fire.
