Title: Spring Delight: Families Gather at Thornton Abbey for Lamb Interaction and More
This Easter, Thornton Abbey Maze transformed into a lively venue of family entertainment as visitors swarmed to interact with and bottle-feed charming newborn lambs. All day long, families reveled in the joy of bonding and feeding times with the lambs in the lambing shed.
Adding a touch of thrill to the occasion, this year’s maze was designed around a Tour De France theme, inspired by Andrew Farrow, the owner’s forthcoming cycling venture across France from 1st May, planned to raise funds for an Autism Charity. “I’m embarking on an arduous traverse across France, from North to South,” shared Farrow, drawing attention to his charity-oriented journey.
The appeal of the spot went beyond the lambing experience, with the maze also offering consistent tractor rides. Exciting fresh activities like Guess Who and Gem Stone mining made their debut in the outdoor games area, complementing existing favourites including the Bouncy Pillow, Wheely Track, oversized games, climbing wall, crazy golf, and sport targets.
“The weather has been favourable, and we’ve enjoyed immense popularity during Easter,” observed Farrow. “We arranged a special Easter Sunday tractor ride where visitors stood a chance to win Easter Eggs, and our new Gem Stone Mine has been well-received, giving visitors an opportunity to hunt for treasures to carry home.”
The maze is set to reopen for the summer from 12th July until September, including the ever-popular pumpkin picking activities planned for weekends in October and during the autumn half-term.
