Grimsby Student Cooks Up a Storm in Prestigious Risotto Challenge

Morgan Robinson, a talented student from Grimsby Institute, has set his sights on the title of Young Risotto Chef of the Year. He’s preparing to compete in the heat taking place at Loughborough (Leeds regionals to be held next week), in a competition sponsored by esteemed grain producer Riso Gallo. The competition has a spotlight on young chefs aged 17-23, keen on demonstrating their unique approach and creativity in making the dish.

Excited to showcase his skills with a risotto recipe centred on sustainability and minimising food waste, Morgan said, “I’m delighted to participate in this competition. It’s an incredible opportunity to learn and evolve.” He also showed appreciation for Riso Gallo’s sustainable farming practices and their ethical treatment of farmers.

Morgan won’t be alone in the competition. Chef Zack Feve, head of the Hospitality Programme at Grimsby Institute, will accompany him. Feve communicated immense pride in Morgan’s successes stating, “Competitions such as these are priceless for our students,” adding, “I’m supporting Morgan and looking forward to witnessing his performance.”

Should Morgan be successful at the regional level, he will progress to the grand final, set to happen at Tottenham Hotspur’s H Club on June 2.
