Lincoln Castle is poised to maintain its lively concert tradition, having been approved for up to 14 events annually until 2029. A far-reaching agreement between Lincolnshire County Council and promotional company Cuffe and Taylor, a subsidiary of Live Nation, anticipates reducing expenses by locking in a multi-year contract as opposed to securing yearly permissions. Concerts are planned for a six-week period from May to June. This year’s roster boasts ten acts like Olly Murs, Sugababes, Rag’n’Bone Man, and the Human League, attracting more than 28,000 music fans just last year. Besides the main performances, the events will include a raised stage for wheelchair users, a bar, and temporary food vendors. Preparations for the concerts are due to start on 7th June, with performances marked between 13th and 27th July, in accordance with planning documents. General manager of Lincoln Castle, Kimberley Vickers, underlined the former success of these events and the possible benefit of flexibility and financial savings with the newly approved permission. However, the choice to host concerts will still undergo annual evaluation.
