Lincolnshire’s Key Stage 4 students are setting a high academic standard as new data indicates an upward trend in educational achievement throughout the county. The latest figures, published on 13th March 2025 for the 2023-2024 academic year, suggest that local youths are performing exceptionally well, particularly in securing Grade 5 or higher in English and Maths.
A notable 3,139 students across Lincolnshire succeeded in obtaining Grade 5 or higher in these essential subjects, a respectable achievement rate of 40%, an increase when compared to the previous year’s results. Amongst these high achievers, 1,510 are boys and the girls slightly surpassing this number with 1,629.
A more detailed examination of the districts reveals that North Kesteven is in the lead, with an impressive 44% of students achieving Grade 5 or higher in English and Maths. East Lindsey follows closely, with a commendable 36% achieving the same standard.
An encouraging 61% of pupils managed to secure Grade 4 or above. This is a clear demonstration of the students’ and teachers’ hard work. For example, in the District of Boston, 52% of students achieved this target.
These figures do not merely represent numbers—they are indicative of the future prospects for our young residents. This solid educational base significantly broadens opportunities for further studies and in the future job market. This is a fact that the entire community can take pride in.
As education remains a priority in Lincolnshire, these upward trending figures provide a hopeful outlook for the county’s educational landscape. However, the ever-present question is: how can we provide further support to enable our students to reach even greater academic milestones?
Undoubtedly, Lincolnshire’s educators and parents will consider this. But for now, the outstanding academic performance of our young population provides ample cause for celebration.
