Young Frankie from Boston, Lincolnshire, hasn’t missed a single home or distant match, tallying up thousands of miles in collaboration with his mother, Becky. As the current season draws near to a close, Frankie is expected to join the team ahead of Posh’s ultimate home match this Saturday, deemed his sixth presence as a club mascot and his 44th attending as a viewer.
Despite enduring long midweek excursions, such as a 354-mile to-and-fro trip to Blackpool, Frankie’s enthusiasm doesn’t falter, even making an appearance at school the subsequent day full of zest. Becky, a supporter of Peterborough United since her own childhood, said, ‘Everyone at Posh is superb, ranging from the players to the staff and they’re all conscious of the devotion we pour into being at the games.’
Frankie’s passion for the team can be traced back as a family custom, with Becky’s loyalty extending nearly three decades. Their journeys have led them as distant as Exeter City, a 520-mile round trip, yet nothing seems to dampen their spirits. Frankie greatly admires striker Ricky-Jade Jones, particularly for his quick footwork and trademark snake goal exhibit.
