New Hospital Garden Offers Tranquil Retreat for Patients and Staff

The new tranquil garden at Pilgrim Hospital in Boston is designed to be a peaceful haven for patients and staff, a project of United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. Following the trail of similar initiatives at Lincoln County Hospital and Grantham and District Hospital, this green space is ready to serve its purpose just as spring blossom showers the city. As reported by Jon Goodwin from NHS Charities Together, the garden has come to life at an expenditure of approximately £50,000. He emphasised that ventures into outdoor natural spaces are therapeutic for both physical and mental health, thus having a significant role in healthcare centres. The endeavour was collaboratively financed by NHS Charities Together and United Lincolnshire Hospitals Charity, supplementing amenities beyond the resources of the NHS budget. For these sanctuaries, Charity manager Ben Petts underlined, their purpose goes beyond natural beauty, offering solitude and precious moments of respite. SPA Landscaping has designed these spaces meticulously with an aim to augment the wellbeing of the hospital’s patients, staff, and the visiting audience.
