Stamford Man Jailed for Nine Years for Assaulting Girls in Woods

A man from Stamford has been given a nine-year imprisonment sentence following his confession to sexually assaulting two girls in a woodland area near Meadows park. Jacques Nel, 39, was apprehended after an interruption by a teenage boys’ group emerged, as presented at Lincoln Crown Court. Nel formerly resided at Chapel Lane, North Luffenham and confessed to three child sexual offence charges. The court was told that upon entering the woods, Nel exposed himself. His legal representative, Steve Taylor, unveiled that Nel is struggling with alcohol and cannabis misuse and acknowledged the grave impact on the victims. Recorder Paul Mann KC underscored that this case indicates a severe escalation in Nel’s criminal conduct when compared to his previous convictions for inappropriate activities on Cornwall’s trains. Nel has been issued with a sexual harm prevention order, a restraining order, and is required to register as a sex offender for life.
