A stunning bird’s-eye view reveals the magnificence of over 20,000 ceramic poppies at Lincoln’s International Bomber Command Centre, some arranged in the unmistakable form of a Lancaster Bomber. This heartfelt display pays tribute to the celebrated 617 Squadron, also known as the Dambusters, with 617 bespoke poppies gracing the Memorial Spire. This touching exhibit forms part of the VE80 Lincoln project, marking VE Day. The remarkable tribute is the brainchild of Lithuanian artist Darius Sirmulevicius, who has resided in Lincolnshire since 1998. The compelling combination of history and artistry will be available for public appreciation until the end of August.
