New Surgical Hub in Scunthorpe Aims to Slash Surgery Wait Times

A new surgical hub has been proposed in Scunthorpe, aiming to substantially cut down the waiting times for elective surgeries. This initiative is spearheaded by independent provider, One Health Group. The group has set aside a piece of undeveloped scrubland on the Normanby Road, located next to the town’s driving test centre, for this development. Plans for the facility include a single-floor building with a reception and waiting area, consultation rooms, a physiotherapy room, a recovery unit, and 12 bedrooms with en-suite facilities for enhanced patient comfort. Procedures at the centre will focus mainly on orthopaedics, spinal, gynaecology, and general surgeries. The developed proposal is presently under consideration by the North Lincolnshire Council, which is responsible for deciding the fate of this project that holds potential for transformation.
