A man from Boston, Wayne Keal, who is 38 years old, is now facing two and a half years behind bars in light of a ruthless attack on his ex-partner. The assault took place in the early hours of October 20 when an intoxicated and trained Keal invaded his former partner’s Boston home. At Lincoln Crown Court, it was disclosed that the horrifying episode lasted for approximately 40 minutes, throughout which the victim was subjected to strangulation and punching. The terrifying ordeal was only halted when Keal fell asleep, providing the victim with a chance to flee. Presiding Judge Simon Hirst underscored the severity of the crime, pointing out that the assailant had strangled the victim twice. Prosecutor Phillip Plant unveiled that prior to the assault, Keal had sent an intimidating message, causing the victim to leave her front door unlocked out of fear of property damage. Injuries sustained by the victim included a swollen jaw and a black eye. Despite the defence arguing that Keal’s actions were short-lived and influenced by drugs, the judge settled on a prison sentence being required.
