Lincolnshire Gears Up to ‘Get Trashy’ for Eurovision 2025

As Eurovision fever sweeps across the continent, Lincolnshire is tuning up for one of the glitziest nights of the year. With the grand final of the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest airing this Saturday, 17 May, homes and venues across the county are gearing up for sequins, snacks, and spectacular key changes.

Whether you’re staying in with sausage rolls and a cheeky drink or heading out to one of the city’s Eurovision watch parties, there’s a new local anthem to help get you in the mood. Lincoln’s very own indie label, Spaniel’s Lugs, has dropped a brand-new track that captures the camp, chaos, and pure joy of the Eurovision spirit.

“Get Trashy (It’s Eurovision Night!)” is the latest release from flamboyant virtual pop provocateur Trashy, and it’s already being hailed as the unofficial soundtrack for Lincoln’s Eurovision celebrations. With lines like “Drape your nan in a feathered frock” and “Sausage rolls shaped like hearts,” the song is a gloriously over-the-top tribute to the annual songfest we all pretend not to care about, until the prosecco is popped and the wind machines are whirring.

The song’s tongue-in-cheek lyrics and full-on Europop production come with all the trimmings: glitter, modulations, and a spoken-word bridge invoking none other than Verka Serduchka. It’s part party anthem, part love letter to Eurovision’s grand tradition of unfiltered fun.

In the words of the artist himself: “If you’re not sweating through your sequins by the first chorus, you’re doing it wrong.”

Across Lincoln, party plans are in full swing. Bars and cafés are advertising themed cocktails, city centre pubs are setting up projectors for group viewings, and households are hoarding crisps, cupcakes, and cheap bubbly in anticipation. It seems this year, more than ever, Eurovision is the escapism we need—and Lincolnshire is embracing it with open arms and feather boas.

The team at Spaniel’s Lugs say the song is just the beginning of a year packed with local talent, AI-powered pop, and tongue-in-cheek tributes. But for now, they’re calling on everyone to throw on their gold hot pants, invite the neighbours, and “Get Trashy” this Saturday night.

You can stream “Get Trashy (It’s Eurovision Night!)” from here and blast it from a Bluetooth speaker and make your own kitchen the dance floor Europe deserves.
