Tragic End for Deer After Chaotic Cleethorpes Beach Pursuit

A roe deer met a tragic end after being pursued by members of the public on Cleethorpes beach, according to Cleethorpes Wildlife Rescue. The charity revealed the incident, which took place on Monday, highlighting the undue stress inflicted upon the animal. It remains uncertain whether the individuals involved were intending to help, but their actions resulted in the deer finally dying due to exhaustion. Despite attempts by the beach safety team to maintain a gap, the public persisted in their pursuit of the distressed animal. The fatigued deer was eventually retrieved but unfortunately died after receiving emergency attention. The charity cautioned that deer are susceptible to severe stress which, in turn, can induce post-capture myopathy, a potentially fatal condition. To avoid similar occurrences in the future, Cleethorpes Wildlife Rescue suggested that, as deer are adept swimmers, they rarely require human assistance unless they have collapsed or are ensnared. It is urged that the public allow deer to return to their natural environments undisturbed, reiterating that this usually occurs without any complications.
