Sleaford Shop Owner Jailed for Selling Illegal Tobacco and Vapes

A Sleaford business owner has received a six-month prison sentence after confessing to selling fake cigarettes. Authorities seized thousands of illicit vapes and tobacco products from Karwan Dewari Khatab’s Fresh Fruit and Grocery shop on Southgate during their operation. Following a court-mandated order in 2024, the shop was permanently closed, stated Lincolnshire Trading Standards. Alongside his prison term, 43-year-old Khatab is required to cover costs amounting to £11,700. This decision was announced at a hearing at Lincoln Crown Court on 29 May.
