The Ministry of Defence is working in conjunction with Lincolnshire Police and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) to investigate the tragic passing of RAF Corporal Rebecca Hudson. The incident took place at an RAF establishment on Kirkby Lane, Tattershall Thorpe, where Cpl Hudson, aged 32, suffered grievous injuries following a collision with a van on 18 May. Despite being promptly airlifted to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham, she tragically succumbed to her injuries five days later. The East Midlands Ambulance Service was quick to respond, dispatching a paramedic, a LIVES emergency responder, and an ambulance to the scene. Cpl Hudson, characterised by the RAF as considerably dedicated to her canine companions and colleagues, leaves behind a noticeable void. Her absence is especially felt by the RAF Police who emphasise the significant impact on the community at the Kirkby Lane site. As the investigation continues, the Ministry of Defence is providing assistance to the coroner’s office with its inquiries.
