In an effort to better the work-life balance for both staff and pupils, two Lincolnshire schools have announced a new timetable where lessons will finish at midday on Fridays. William Barcroft Junior School in Cleethorpes and Woodlands Academy in Grimsby, both part of the Harbour Learning Trust, will implement this change following consultation with over 500 parents. The revised schedule promises to set aside time for teachers to plan, thereby improving the overall quality of education during the week. Additionally, the schools are planning to offer support and host activities for pupils during Friday afternoons. The revamped itinerary is expected to accommodate at least 180 students in these extra-curricular activities. The story was originally reported by the BBC and has been adapted for The Lincoln Post.
