Lincolnshire DJ Spins a Nostalgic Tune with Vintage Gramophones

Adam Wareham, a Lincolnshire resident known for his evocative DJ performances, takes audiences back to the early to mid-20th Century with his collection of records. Utilising two traditional gramophones, he brings an old-world charm to weddings and other events throughout the county. Adorned in vintage-inspired clothing and surrounded by HMV paraphernalia, he offers a complete contrast to a contemporary world consumed by digital streaming.

His fascination with gramophones ignited at a fair in 2014 and, from then onwards, his collection has transformed into a heartfelt passion. “This is a step back into the past,” Wareham says, while spinning 78RPM shellac records and casting a spell over his audiences with a wide-ranging mix of 1940s melodies and classic rock and roll.

His performances are not only an auditory delight but also a feast for the eyes, with a central attraction of a 1915 traditional Swiss horn gramophone. Distancing himself from contemporary DJ setups, Wareham achieves volume control by literally ‘putting a sock in it.’ This charismatic DJ’s efforts in preserving this vintage style has been greatly appreciated by those who value the musical history, and he continues to breathe life into those bygone times for the residents of Lincolnshire.
