Following a vigil in Grimsby, an adjacent town to Lincolnshire, commemorating a teenager who tragically lost his life in a car crash, police officers were subjected to assault. The altercation transpired in Grant Thorold Park, where law enforcement had been dispatched to offer comfort and promptly attend to any developing problems. Inspector Pete Musgrave divulged that a group instigated antisocial behaviour, leading to minor harm to some officers and destruction to police vehicles. To date, no individuals have been apprehended in connection to these incidents. Previously, a ceremony which included a balloon release took place, honouring the memory of JP Perry, an 18-year-old who lost his life in a local traffic accident.
