A scale model of a superyacht previously owned by Saudi Prince Fahad bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz al Saud, has raised £30,200 at an auction in Scunthorpe by Eddisons auctioneers. The elaborate model, which extends over 4ft, was initially crafted in 2008 for the Sarafsa yacht. Along with the model, a set of goblets with connections to ex-French king Louis XVI were sold. The sale of the yacht in April 2023 resulted in an assortment of its silverware, artwork, and furnishings becoming available for bidding. Auctioneer Paul Cooper commented on the distinctiveness of executing such an auction in Scunthorpe, pointing out the worldwide esteem of the articles on sale. The Sarafsa, formerly the biggest motor yacht constructed in a UK shipyard, was renowned for its high-end facilities, including a cinema, spa, and helipad.
