Grimsby Town’s Svanthorsson Set to Miss Start of Season Following Surgery

Grimsby Town’s winger, Jason Svanthorsson, is set to miss the first 10 games of the League Two season as he recovers from knee surgery. The 25-year-old winger, originally from Iceland, played a pivotal role for the Mariners during last season, having scored four goals and delivered four assists in 43 league appearances. Grimsby Town officials have verified that Svanthorsson’s absence will extend until late September, as he recuperates from a surgery that was scheduled during the off-season. Svanthorsson, who has represented Iceland six times at an international level, transferred to Grimsby Town from Iceland’s Breidablik team the previous summer.
