Louth HGV Driver Admits Careless Driving in Fatal M1 Crash

A HGV driver based in Louth has confessed to being the cause of a fatal accident on the M1 in West Yorkshire. Michael Parr, 57, entered a guilty plea to charges of causing death through careless driving and causing serious injury by lack of due care when driving. The accident happened on the M1 northbound near Garforth on 20 July 2022, leading to the death of Donna Sowerby and severe injuries to Anthony Harratt. Parr, a resident of Brickyard Cottage in Louth, Lincolnshire, has been allowed unconditional bail along with a temporary driving ban. His sentencing is set to take place at Leeds Crown Court on 29 July.
