Stamford Town Bridge Repairs Prompt Road Closures

Residents of Stamford are being encouraged to prepare for impending road closures and detours, which are due to vital maintenance being done on the town bridge. Lincolnshire County Council has reported that there are indications of water leaks on the bridge, thus requiring a replacement of its membrane. The repairs are set to commence on Monday and are projected to run until 1 September. Working hours for the maintenance are scheduled to be from 07:30 to 16:00 BST. The re-routing is expected to affect St Mary’s Hill, Castle Street, Castle Dyke, and Albert Bridge. Access to Cattlemarket and Wharf Road car parks will still be maintained, however, parking provisions near Lord Burghley’s Hospital will temporarily be on hold.
