Lincoln Man Recovering from Balcony Fall in Cyprus to Return Home

Sam Hudson, a 24-year-old Lincoln resident, is preparing for discharge from a Cypriot hospital following a severe accident that left him immobile. Having been on holiday at the time with his stepbrother and friend, Sam suffered devastating falls from a four-storey hotel balcony. As a result, he sustained life-threatening injuries including a shattered pelvis and spinal fractures. The absence of travel insurance compounded the issue, resulting in delayed surgical intervention at Nicosia General Hospital.

The Hudson family has since begun fundraising efforts to ensure Sam is capable of returning to the UK with the necessary medical attention. Despite his remarkable resilience, the severity of Sam’s injuries mean he continues to require extensive assistance. Additional treatment will also be necessary upon his return.

Generous well-wishers have supported a GoFundMe appeal launched for Sam, which has already amassed over £5,000. The family remains hopeful of securing a medically equipped flight back to the UK in the near future. The community’s response to Sam’s plight has been nothing short of incredible, nevertheless serving as a poignant reminder to fellow travellers of the importance of obtaining insurance and exercising due care and caution.
