The initial stage of Baysgarth House’s renovation scheme is almost finished. Baysgarth House, a Georgian museum structure situated in Barton-upon-Humber, has a history dating back to approximately 1731. The North Lincolnshire Council is the current owner of the facility, which has been functioning as a museum since the 1980s. The site, unfortunately, has been shuttered to the public since 2019.
The finalisation of the repair work’s inaugural stage is expected in the upcoming weeks. This part of the process includes the set-up of a café within the stable block and the launching of an ice cream shop within a storehouse.
The subsequent phase, which encompasses enhancements to the central structure such as handicap-accessible toilets and other advancements, has received the Council’s approval. Additionally, construction permission for a new community pavilion situated in Baysgarth Park has been granted, aligned with public consultation indicating support for the new café amenities.
