In a move to improve patient experience, a new online service is soon to be introduced that will enable residents of northern Lincolnshire to conveniently manage their hospital appointments. This new service, dubbed the Patient Portal, is the brainchild of NHS Humber Health Partnership.
The Patient Portal is aimed at reducing the time patients spend in reshuffling appointments by providing them with the ability to book and amend their own tests and appointments through the online platform. The scheme will initially be piloted in Hull and is then expected to extend its services to Goole and northern Lincolnshire, thereby offering a modern, digital approach in place of the age-old method of phone bookings.
It should be noted that despite the switch to digital booking, provisions are in place for those who prefer traditional phone arrangements; they will continue to have the option to manage their appointments over the phone.
