Skegness Holiday Park Incident Leaves Visitor Terrified After Wasp Attack

Alison Riley from Leeds experienced a frightening incident during her family holiday at Haven Skegness Holiday Park in Lincolnshire. The 34-year-old was swarmed by wasps leaving her with over 100 painful stings, including on her scalp. The traumatic event resulted in intense pain and fear.

On her own and wandering away from her caravan, Alison found herself beset by these aggressive creatures. In her panic, she shrieked for assistance, eventually dropping to her knees, uncertain of her next action. Other visitors swiftly reacted, using a nearby fire hose to douse her with cold water in an effort to alleviate sting effects and disperse the insects, which had infiltrated even her leggings.

Despite the searing pain in her head and legs, Alison received medical aid from paramedics approximately 45 minutes after the incident. Pest control arrived about six hours later, their investigation revealing a concealed nest near a park trail. It is suspected that Alison inadvertently provoked the attack by either stepping on or closely passing by the nest. Although the initial pain has lessened, Alison reports persistent itchiness a week post-incident.

Naturally, this has left Alison in a state of anxiety and heightened caution even after her return home. Haven Skegness Holiday Park has been sought for a comment regarding the safety measures in place to preempt such unfortunate incidents in the future.
