A female motorist has been imprisoned for a decade in relation to a devastating road accident on A17 near North Rauceby, Lincolnshire. The incident led to the loss of two local school students’ lives. Natasha Allarakhia, 36, was reported to have been operating her Audi Q2 at a speed of 96mph and under the influence of alcohol when she collided with a parked Ford Fiesta that was waiting at a temporary set of traffic lights.
As a result of the impact, both William Ray, 17, and Eddie Shore, 18, lost their lives, while another occupant of the vehicle, Jack Prince, 17, suffered injuries that have drastically altered his life. The accident, which took place on the 20th of June the previous year, deeply shocked the surrounding community and the Carre’s Grammar School in Sleaford where the teenagers were studying.
During the court proceedings, families affected by the accident shared emotional statements on the impact and the heartbreaking aftermath of the collision. Allarakhia, already known to court for previous driving offenses, has been prohibited from driving for 12 and a half years and is required to pass an extensive retest to regain her license.
