Heartfelt Tributes Paid to Lincolnshire Teenager Killed in A17 Crash

The Lincolnshire community is mourning following the fatal A17 crash near North Rauceby, with many expressing deep tributes to one of the victims, 17-year-old William Ray. One of two teenagers who tragically lost their lives, William was recognised as a talented student at Carre’s Grammar School and was appreciated for both his academic and athletic abilities. Indicative of his active lifestyle, he demonstrated his enthusiasm at the Lincoln Gymnastic Club and Sleaford Rugby Club.

Sarah Barker, William’s mother, shared her indescribable sorrow whilst also remembering her son’s vibrant life. “Will was more than just my only son, he was a close companion,” she expressed. “He excelled in academia and athletics, and I was deeply honoured to be part of his energetic life.” William had planned to begin studying Aerospace Engineering at the University of Sheffield, marking the next phase in his promising life.

After pleading guilty to causing death by dangerous driving, the driver found accountable for the incident, Natasha Allarakhia, received a 10-year prison sentence. The tragic event has highlighted the critical necessity for road safety in the surrounding regions and has left a deeply-felt mark on the community.
