New Safety Hub Launched at Mablethorpe to Protect Lincolnshire Coast

A new safety initiative has been inaugurated at Queen’s Park Beach Huts in Mablethorpe with the aim of bolstering security along the Lincolnshire coast. Named the Atlantis Alliance, this collaborative effort brings together various emergency and protection services, including the coastguard, lifeboats, police and local councils.

East Lindsey District Council (ELDC) has underscored the significance of the safety hub in offering reassurance to local businesses, visitors and residents. Governance and structure maintenance of the safety hub falls under the management of Mablethorpe and Sutton Town Council with support from National Coastwatch Mablethorpe.

The initiative is seen as a key strategy to tackle challenges that arise due the surge of tourists, especially to areas such as Skegness and Mablethorpe. ELDC Councillor Steve Kirk has stressed the necessity of a cohesive approach to handle everyday matters like beach safety, fire safety and crime prevention.

The commitment to boosting engagement and safeguarding measures through this new hub has also been echoed by Lincolnshire Police.
