Lincolnshire Pilot Among Victims in Isle of Wight Helicopter Crash

The tragic helicopter crash on the Isle of Wight which led to the loss of three lives, involved Simon Hewitt, a 54-year-old pilot from Barton-upon-Humber in Lincolnshire. The incident took place near Shanklin on Monday morning, also causing the demise of Justyna Czoska and Wojciech Kowalkowski, both residents of Banbury in Oxfordshire.

The family of Mr Hewitt have paid tribute to him as ‘the most wonderful, intelligent, kind man and father’, expressing their devastation at his passing. He was dedicated pilot at Northumbria Helicopters, who esteemed him as an honoured team member and cherished family man.

The Air Accidents Investigation Branch has initiated an investigation into the crash. Preliminary findings from this inquiry may take up to a year to be released. The community of Lincolnshire mourns the loss of Mr Hewitt, whose presence brought happiness and warmth to many.
