Lincoln Cat Peanut Finds Unlikely Favourite Spot in Nottingham Pub

A Lincolnshire cat known as Peanut has earned an unexpected reputation as a regular visitor at a Nottingham pub, covering a distance of over 30 miles not once, but twice, in search of escapades. Charley Rawlings from North Hykeham, Peanut’s rescuer, was equally perplexed and shocked by his initial disappearance in July. However, Peanut was subsequently located at the Castle Rock Brewery in Nottingham. Unbelievably, Peanut embarked on the same adventure in August, leaving his owners flabbergasted.

Whilst expressing her surprise to BBC Radio Lincolnshire, Rawlings shared that ‘ we had no idea where he could have disappeared to.’ She suggests that Peanut may have unintentionally found his way to Nottingham, although his cunning double adventure implies more sophisticated strategies.

Jessica Collins, the Castle Rock Brewery’s manager, observed Peanut’s distinctive charm. Describing him as ‘A delightful little cat, petite yet quite noisy’, Collins and her team affectionately gave him the nickname ‘Screech’ after one of the brewery’s beers. Due to his adventures, Peanut has become a well-known figure locally, his escapades a source of amusement and worry for his owners as well as the brewery’s staff.

While the brewery has welcomed Peanut, all are concerned that his exploratory nature may lead him into danger. Luckily, his microchip allowed his owners to successfully recover him on both occasions. Locally, Peanut’s exploits have captured the community’s admiration, serves as testament to the surprising adventures our pets can embark on.
