Four individuals have been imposed with criminal behaviour orders for engaging in proscribed hare coursing on farmland in Lincolnshire. The incident, which was reported early on the 9th of October, transpired at Wellend Bank, close to Market Deeping. Among the offenders were Billy Saunders and Maurice Smith, who were apprehended with greyhounds and apparatus, purportedly for hare hunting. Moreover, their vehicle, a silver MERCEDES ML, with a mud-covered number plate was also discovered on the scene. Evidence of the group’s involvement in the deed was further substantiated by video footage recovered from a mobile phone. Consequently, an injunction has been issued by the Lincoln Magistrates’ Court, barring the group from entering several counties for some years. This includes Lincolnshire, and they are forbidden to be in possession of dogs or poaching gear. Lincolnshire Police have reiterated their resolve to combat such rural offences, underscoring their stance that hare coursers have no place in the county.
