Two Lincolnshire hospitals, Lincoln County Hospital and Boston Pilgrim Hospital, have been urged to enhance their emergency services by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). The directive followed inspections that unearthed long A&E queues and cleanliness issues at Lincoln County Hospital. On the other hand, Boston Pilgrim Hospital was lambasted for irregular adherence to safe drug storage procedures. Prof Karen Dunderdale, who is at the helm of the Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group, accepted the areas requiring improvement. However, she accentuated the progress made in patient care and reduction in waiting times. Initiatives are currently being executed to augment service safety and efficacy for the residents of Lincolnshire.
