Scunthorpe Resident Jailed After Violent Knife Attack

A resident of Scunthorpe has received a prison sentence of ten years and six months consequent to a severe stabbing incident that occurred on Allanby Street. The offending party, 53-year-old Aleksamdr Malkov, was convicted of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. The conviction stemmed from an event that took place on March 3, during which Malkov penetrated the living quarters of the victim amidst a verbal disagreement, and proceeded to stab the individual numerous times. Humberside Police’s Det Con Jonathan Lilley categorized the brutal attack as completely ‘unnecessary’ and pointed out the fortunate survival of the victim. This was largely due to the rapid intervention of a close acquaintance and the emergency services. Malkov was ultimately detained by officers equipped with firearms and was charged with an attempt to commit murder, despite proclaiming his innocence throughout the course of police interrogations. The gravity of Malkov’s actions was underscored with severe punishment during proceedings at Hull Crown Court.
