Two Bourne Men Sentenced for Manslaughter in Machete Incident

Two young men hailing from Bourne, Lincolnshire, have been issued sentences in the wake of the unfortunate demise of 37-year old Kyle Marshall. The horrifying incident took place in Wellhead Park in June last year. Reece Bruns, aged 21, was handed down a sentence of twelve years and nine months, whereas Aaron Clark, aged 18, received a sterner punishment of six years and nine months in a youth offenders’ institution. The two men were found culpable of manslaughter and possessing a blade, despite being acquitted of murder charges, by the Lincoln Crown Court. It was revealed in court that Marshall was stabbed with a machete by Bruns, provided by Clark, amid strong ill-will between the two parties involved. Despite protestations of unintentional harm, the presiding judge highlighted their intentional decision to arm themselves and stay in the park. The issued sentence acknowledges the intricate personal histories of the defendants, with the court taking into account factors such as the adverse childhood experiences of Bruns and Clark’s juvenile age at the time of the crime.
