An unfortunate event in Snitterby, Lincolnshire, resulted in the demise of 87-year-old Peter Skilton, purportedly at the mercy of his stepson, Dr Jason Waite. The fatal incident is said to have been triggered by a legal conflict surrounding a £5 million estate, bequeathed by Mr Skilton’s deceased wife, Eileen. As heard in the Lincoln Crown Court, Mr Skilton faced a reported attack from 54-year-old Dr Waite on December 17, which regrettably led to a deadly head injury. Eye-witnesses – Anthony and Pamela Tootell, the current tenants of the disputed cottage – stated that they saw Dr Waite aggressively removing furniture and accusing Mr Skilton upon his entry. The court proceeded to hear that the dispute had originated from a High Court judgement only a few days earlier. It is believed that Dr Waite tried to obstruct his stepfather from leasing out the cottage in response to this ruling. Despite the immediate medical attention, Mr Skilton sadly passed away from his injuries two days after the incident in a Hull hospital. Dr Waite, a resident of Gainsborough, refutes the allegations of both murder and manslaughter against him. The case is yet to be concluded.
